I ended the year 2005 down about 8%.
UPDATE

My portfolio was down again during 2008. For the year I lost about 40% of the value of my holdings. The most notable loser in my stock purchases for the year was WM ( Washington Mutual ) which went to nearly zero from my first purchase price of about $40 per share. I did continue to purchase that as it fell. Fortunately for me I did not have a larger portion of my finances in the market. I did buy some real estate which has gone up in value so I cannot complain overall. I hope you all did well.

My portfolio was down about 15% during 2007. As of December 31, 2007, my holdings lost 14.8%. My worst investment choice for the year was WM ( Washington Mutual ) which lost about half its value during the last six weeks of 2007.

My stock portfolio had a good year in 2006. I was up about 20 percent, but slightly higher.

Stocks I Own
Each of these symbols represents a company. ABX is Barrick Gold, DOW is Dow Chemical. At almost any stock or financial page you can look up stock information by the symbol. If you do not know the symbol the page will have a link to look up the symbol from the company name. I recommend quicken.com and yahoo.com (then click the financial link) also earthlink.net has a financial link to help you research stocks. I also like the OPINION link at barchart.com. Never use just one recommendation to buy or sell a stock. Use your judgment after you begin to investigate the stock.

EGHT, INZS.PK, SCKT, LFPI.PK, DOC, AVNX,, DOM, DUK, AHM, RAI, WM, MO, SBGI and VGR.

I would not recommend buying any of the stocks until you check each one. Some are overpriced for me. Study things like P/E ratio, number of shares traded daily, dividend and profile of the company. Do you know what business they are in? Check the profile of the company. Have fun. You may have the heart and the mind to trade stocks but be sure you have the stomach.
