A varied assortment of sights within walking distance of Hollywood and Highland
Frederick's of Hollywood, on Hollywood Blvd. between Las Palmas and Cahuenga Yeah, it's really here. The windows are for browsing but go on inside. You might find that gift for your mother-in-law or the mailman. The building is certainly a photographer's dream. Old Hollywood styling and new Hollywood soft things. Places to eat within spitting distance in all directions. Just an expression.
Sunset and Vine This is one of the major historical areas in Hollywood and indeed, one of the major L.A. intersections. This was once the location of NBC TV and it was the birthplace of Capitol Records. There is one skyscraper at the intersection and another less than a block away. A bank now is located on the property that once was the NBC home for shows that starred Dinah Shore, Nat "King" Cole and George Gobel.

The Ivar Theatre on Ivar South of Hollywood Blvd. This theater had been on the critical list for awhile during the 1990s. It had become a sad looking piece of Hollywood entertainment history with a deteriorated exterior and a candidate for the wrecking ball. It has now been restored to its current beauty. It has the basic design of its original grandeur and it has a proud marquee that advertises its latest plays and offerings. Worth seeing as you stroll on Hollywood Blvd. Turn South at Ivar.
